The Judging process includes three stages:
  1. Shopper Nominations
  2. Independent Audit – “Mystery Shopper”
  3. Awards Presentation Event

Stage 1:  Shopper Nominations
This brings our readers and local residents into the decision-making process. The Navtarang Lifestyle Newspaper will feature a Business & Community Achiever Awards nomination coupon where everyone is invited to nominate their local businesses. Online voting will also be available, making it easier for people to nominate in all categories. There are up to 25-30 categories in the awards campaign, with the top five nominated Businesses & Community Achievers in each category advancing to Stage 2.

Stage 2: Independent Audit – “Mystery Shopper”

Based on the questionnaire scores, the top three finalists in each category will be independently audited. A Mystery Shopper will assess each business on customer service, product quality and display, as well as on exterior presentation of businesses.. This process creates a benchmark between businesses, identifying strengths and potential for growth.

Stage 3: Awards Presentation Event

Winners in each category will be announced at the 2011 Business & Community Awards Gala Presentation Night which will be on Saturday, 24 September 2011 at the Granville Town Hall,
10 Carlton Street, Grenville, NSW from  6.30pm
. Tickets can be purchased from Suite 4, Level 1,
39 Scott Street, Liverpool, NSW 2170.  For enquiries please call 02 9734 6666

How dose it works?
The judging process consists of three stages. Initial category nominations are made by local readers and listeners of Navtarang 24/7 Hindi Radio (www.navtarang.com.au ) using the coupon in your The Navtarang Lifestyle newspaper or by nominating online at this website. The top six finalists for each category, based on nomination results, are asked to complete a business questionnaire. The questionnaire will be reviewed by a panel of judges.  Based on questionnaire results, the top three finalists for each category will be selected.  A Mystery Shopper will assess each business on customer service, product quality and display, and exterior presentation of businesses, consequently a winner will be selected.

Who are the Judges?
The business questionnaire will be reviewed by a panel of judges, who are community and religious leaders, and successful business entrepreneurs.

Finalists Selected
Finalists are determined from the number of nominations received from the public. Those businesses receiving the highest number of nominations are selected. There is no arbitrary cut-off point, as the number of nominations received varies for each category.

Winners Selected
For most categories, independent mystery shoppers will visit each finalist anonymously and assess the business, and rating the performance of the businesses in the areas of:

• Customer Service
• Product Quality and Display
• Value for money
• Exterior Presentation of Business
Where anonymous judging is not possible for a particular category, judges will conduct an impromptu telephone or in-person interview.
